Conran OK’d for Shoreham homes
Deal is part of wider £40m revamp for West Sussex town
Conran and Partners has been given the green light for a 255-homes scheme near Shoreham-by-Sea in West Sussex.
The £40m scheme involves turning a former industrial site at Kingston Wharf on the banks of the river Adur and along with new homes includes new flood defences, public realm and a cycleway.
Conran’s deal is for housing association Hyde Group and will see the homes built in blocks of between four and eight storeys at a site next to Kingston Beach and a grade II-listed lighthouse built in 1846.
A new river walk will connect Shoreham town centre with nearby Kingston Beach.
All of the homes will be affordable, available for rent or for shared ownership.
Other members of the team include commercial architect ECE Architecture, QS Philip Pank Partnership, M&E engineer Couch Perry Wilkes and structural engineer Hemsley Orrell Partnership.
