More Than 90 Affordable New Homes Planned In Barkingside
Peabody, TfL, and Vistry Partnerships plan to deliver almost 100 new affordable homes in Barkingside, Ilford.
Transport for London (TfL), Vistry Partnerships, and developer Peabody are planning to deliver 98 new homes in Barkingside, Ilford, East London. New properties will range from 1-bed flats, 2-, and 3-bed apartments across three new buildings.
New Homes In Barkingside
Proposed new homes will be available via shared ownership and London Affordable Rents (LAR), so both homebuyers and tenants have multiple options. Rental levels for LAR are below the average numbers in the capital and are set by the Mayor.
The new residential development will mostly cover the area next to the Barkingside Tube station and will be car-free for new residents, except for blue badge parking spots.
As for the transport links, residents will have the Central line and multiple bus routes just at their doorstep.
Main Approach
Sheppard Robson are the architects behind the proposed residential development. As part of the design, a small part of the parking will be redeveloped to improve the public space around the tube station.
Residents and visitors will enjoy new pedestrian crossings and play spaces at the Fairlop Waters Country Park, which will boost the local community.
Sustainability is the central focus of the new residential development in Barkingside. As planned, residents will benefit from air source heat pumps, green roofs, and new community gardens.
All this is to improve the local flora and create new biodiversity.
