The City of Westminster planning committee is on the verge of granting approval for a new residential development in the heart of Mayfair, London W1.
The proposed project entails the conversion of an existing unlisted office building located at 11 Stanhope Gate, just off Park Lane, into six brand-new residential units.
The plans encompass various significant changes and enhancements, including the excavation of a new basement level, an extension to the existing fourth floor toward the rear of the building with the addition of a mansard roof structure. Furthermore, there will be the replacement of the current fifth floor with a minor extension to the rear to harmonize with the fourth floor below. Additionally, the project involves the creation of a completely new sixth floor and a new rooftop level. All these modifications are intended to accommodate a total of six residential units under use class C3.
Furthermore, the project calls for a set-back roof plant room and a shroud designed to house life safety equipment. There will be adjustments and alterations made to the rear fenestration at all levels, the inclusion of a residential balcony at the front on the fifth floor, and the addition of a new ground floor rear terrace equipped with basement ventilation.
