Luxury retirement living, where you’ll feel right at home
We believe passionately that, as you get older, life can and should be fulfilling, engaging, and uplifting. This is the philosophy behind Elysian Residences and runs through everything we do at The Beckett in Tunbridge Wells, coming summer 2024. Our aim is to give you access to the very best life has to offer, whether that be food, experiences, or service.
All whilst letting you live your life on your own terms, and in your own home.
Royal Tunbridge Wells came into being 400 years ago when an English nobleman discovered a medicinal spring at the site. Today the town boasts elegant shopping, a plethora of bars and restaurants, and all just an hour from London.
Sitting on the edge of Kent’s ancient High Weald, with elegant shopping, a plethora of bars and restaurants, and just an hour from London, there’s so much more to Tunbridge Wells than just the waters.
About the area
Shopping and local services
Tunbridge Wells is home to many independent retailers including G Collins & Son, personal jewellers to the late Queen, as well as many local artisans and producers. The busy weekly Farmer’s Market offers a taste of fresh local produce, including award winning food and wine from Kent’s vineyards. Plus, essentials like supermarkets, a post office, GP surgery, dentist and hospital are all to be easily found in the town.
Nestled in Kent, the Garden of England, Tunbridge Wells has a thriving dining scene, from local foodie favourites like Hattons, The Spice and Sofia’s Colombian Kitchen to famous names like The Ivy. Further afield, there are plenty of quintessential English pubs to be discovered in Kent’s bucolic villages.
The great outdoors
Tunbridge Wells sits on the edge of the High Weald, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of ancient trackways, woodlands and rolling hills.
It is also famous for its impressive sandstone outcrops, including High Rocks with its weathered valleys and gorges. Some of Kent’s most famous gardens are nearby too like those at Sissinghurst Castle. Plus, the south coast is only an hour away.
