Carpenters Estate

The upcoming Carpenters Estate is designed to foster a 15-minute neighbourhood, ensuring that residents have convenient access to essential amenities such as community services, educational institutions, and commercial facilities. This initiative aims to enhance the overall quality of life for its inhabitants.

Populo Living has successfully secured a £3.83 million Decarbonisation Grant, marking a significant milestone in accelerating the delivery of the first phase of the Carpenters Estate Regeneration project.

The Carpenters Estate restoration and regeneration programme aims to provide 2,172 homes that are affordable for local residents, with at least 50 percent available at an affordable rent. This initiative aligns with the Council's broader Just Transition climate action plan, which includes retrofitting 314 existing homes (44 percent) on the estate to the highest environmental standards.
