Richmond Park

In 1637, King Charles I enclosed a 2,500-acre area of common land and turned it into a park for red and fallow deer. The eight-mile wall he built can still be seen, but the park is no longer reserved for Royal use.

It is abundant in open grassland, ancient woodland and rare wildlife, and has conservation status.
