Some of the apartments are under shared ownership and affordable housing schemes.
The Camley Street King’s Cross Area development is a major urban regeneration project that will bring around 350 new homes – including 170 new affordable Council homes - and 200,000 sq ft of high-quality space for businesses. It is one of those that form part of Camden’s Knowledge Quarter and is intended to help facilitate residential and economic growth in the vicinity.
Less than a mile from the heart of King’s Cross and in close proximity to burgeoning developments in the Knowledge Quarter, the development occupies two sites – Camley Street and Cedar Way. It will create a substantial step-change in connectivity and accessibility and will also help towards the further regeneration of King’s Cross.
The development is designed as a highly sustainable, mixed-use neighborhood with bold architectural character. Emphasis is placed on creating meaningful public spaces, integrating green infrastructure, and improving circulation through new streets and open areas.
In addition to the residential offering, the project will provide new business and innovation space aimed at fostering local enterprises, jobs, and training opportunities. A variety of unit sizes will ensure a diverse mix of residents, including families needing larger homes.
New landscaped public spaces and improved pedestrian routes will enhance the area's urban experience. In October 2024, Ballymore and Lateral were appointed as development partners for the Cedar Way site, bringing strong credentials to deliver this forward-thinking regeneration plan.
DisclaimerThe Camley Street development is progressing, with the tender process for selecting a main contractor set to begin in 2025. Construction works are scheduled to commence between 2025 and 2026, marking the next significant phase in the project’s delivery.
