Whitechapel is current. It always has been.
The Silk District is a flow of tall towers and lower-lying buildings which is also part of a larger story of investment in the area.
You're buying into a location that's going places.
The Silk District development is a flow of tall towers, lower-lying buildings and landscaped gardens. Our East London homes offer first-class amenities - gym, 24-hour concierge, cinema room and café - and all of London within easy reach.
Advantages
What you're getting at The Silk District
People have always invested their futures in Whitechapel. The French Huguenots did in the 17th century, bringing with them their knowledge and craft in silk, from which our new homes take their name.
Our vision for The Silk District is of a place that blends craft, luxury and attention to detail. Our architectural choices were based on three distinct collections of buildings, The Jacquard, The Georgette and The Bouchon.
The Bouchon
The final chance to own a home here at The Silk District.
The homes in The Bouchon have been crafted with considered details such as brushed gold brassware, a contrasting light and dark palette and contemporary appliances creating an enviable, comfortable living space that will stand the test of time. This is the last chance to call The Silk District home.
The Georgette South
The Georgette South is part of a collection of secluded residences, standing at seven floors tall. Homes here benefit from unique views of Canary Wharf – and balconies from which to enjoy them. Watch the twinkling lights of some of London's most recognised landmarks from your own home.
The Georgette North
Our buildings are named to honour the craft and luxury of Whitechapel's silk industry. Full of character and subtlety, Georgette is a light fabric typified by tightly interlaced silk threads. The seven-storey Georgette North was the second phase to launch at The Silk District.
Craft, luxury and attention to detail
The Silk District is a new community in the heart of one of London's oldest areas. One tall tower and two lower-lying buildings connected by new streets and landscaping and first-class amenities.
Every architectural and design decision here reflects our goal of creating an outstanding place where people can thrive. From front doors to flooring, our in-house team's obsession for detail makes the whole development feel like home.
Transport accessibility
The Silk District is at the heart of London’s creative East, in Whitechapel E1. Our area spans the worlds of business and culture, bordering Brick Lane and Shoreditch and set between two of London’s largest financial districts, the City and Canary Wharf.
The history of the silk district
From the looms of the Huguenots to the stalls of independent traders selling fresh fruit or finely patterned fabrics, this is a story of creativity and trade - a history of hustle and aspiration in Whitechapel E1.
It was the Huguenots who, arriving from France in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, brought the weaving and silk trade that The Silk District is named for. A trade so important to the Whitechapel area that the local crest features a mulberry bush - delicacy of choice for the silkworm - as well as a weaver’s shuttle.
The threads of Whitechapel’s history continue to shape the area’s personality, visible in the architecture lining the streets. The walls of the Whitechapel gallery premiered works that went on to define the careers of Picasso, Frida Kahlo, and Jackson Pollock. A short walk away, the building of the former Whitechapel Bell Foundry is a testament to the origin of Big Ben and the Liberty Bell, both cast within its walls. It’s an area whose history echoes around the world into the present day.
Three reasons to invest with us in Whitechapel
We have created an automatic ranking system for new-build homes in London based on several critical features around the development, like schools, parks, and transport infrastructure.
We have developed this new analytical tool to calculate the scores based on the location data. Note that AutoScore values are not set by us or anyone else – everything happens automatically.
Work is progressing well at The Bouchon, the 25-storey tower within the Silk District development.
The concrete frame is currently at level 17 and the building’s façade is now up to level nine, and progressing quickly.
Internally, the tower is plastered and has kitchens fitting on level one. Partition walling, plumbing and electrics are complete to level three.
Contractors are also fitting out the development’s commercial and office space, and the developer is talking to a number of potential occupiers.

Mount Anvil has partnered with Peloton to offer the residents access to The Hub @ The Silk District - a dedicated fitness space featuring the immersive Peloton Bikes.
The residents at the development will have full access to the original Peloton Bike, which combines fitness, technology and media to connect riders to workouts.
Jon Hall, Group Sales Director at Mount Anvil, commented: I’m a huge fan of Peloton, and it’s revolutionised the way I work out, especially during the pandemic when commercial gyms have been closed. I’m so excited to bring this forward for our residents so they can experience it for themselves either in The Hub The Silk District or from the comfort of their own homes.
«I suspect the introduction of the bikes will be a real hit given Peloton’s growing popularity and will help us make more insight-led decisions around the layout and design of our upcoming developments.»
Access to Peloton for every resident will form part of the service charge, at no greater cost to the residents.
The first opportunity to call The Silk District home, with 24-hour concierge and business lounge, The Georgette North is on track for completion in early 2021.
